What's Up Lately

Hannah Willms (Bailey)

Les Willms and I were married on July 22, 1995 and on January 1, 1996 moved out to his family grain/fescue farm where we have lived till present.  Les' parents moved off the farm and Les and I have purchased the 1200 acre farm from them.  Les also operates a tank truck in the oil patch full time in the winter months and part time in the summer.   On April 28, 2002 a little girl was born into our family, Mandy(Amanda) Joy and then a little boy, Lucas Lee, was born on December 8, 2003.  We are currently expecting our third child August 4, so I can't see us making it to Three Hills for the reunion on July 28.  It sounds like fun and I would love to see you all again but I will have to wait for another time.

The web site is very neat to read thru, you have all done a great job at setting it up.  I don't remember everyone but I only went to high school for grade 10 and then came back in 1992-1994 for Bible School.

I am a stay at home mom who sometimes wishes that was all I did.  Life is very busy for us.  I do the bookkeeping for our company as well as all the other jobs that farm wives get call to do (:  Before we had children I worked at the local elementary school as a First Nation Support Worker.  I have been asked many times if I am coming back and I tell them it would be a conflict of interest as I already have a full time job employed by LH Willms Inc.  I love being at home and wouldn't want to miss any of the time I get to spend with our kids.

When I left Prairie, after finishing the AARS program, I didn't feel God calling me into full time ministry as many of my class mates did. I felt more that God wanted us to send missionaries as well as reach out to the unsaved living all around us.  In the last 12 years Les and I have been involved in our church (teaching Sunday school, running children clubs, trustee) but somehow that didn't seem like enough.  In 2005 Les' mom went home to be with the Lord on Mother's Day after a short but brave battle with cancer. That same year my grandmother died of cancer and I had a miscarriage.  In December I was approached with an opportunity to help start a Christian Community Radio Broadcast in Fort St John.  I have no past experience with radio but I felt God tell me that this was the ministry I needed and this was how we would reach those around us who needed to hear the Good News. It has been just about a year and a half of hard work but today we heard that our application has been approved by the CRTC to run a repeater broadcast from our "mother" station CIAM Radio in Ft Vermillion, AB.  We are  the 12th  application to be approved in Canada.  I am so excited to see the impact that this broadcast will have in our community.  No, I will not be the one behind the mic (: I'm not really a radio personality, behind the scenes keeping things running is fine for me.

I would love to hear from any one who wants to write me.  My email address is lhwillms@pris.ca.  I included a couple of pictures as it is always interesting to see how people have changed over the years.

Take care and thanks for trying to keep us all connected.

Ambre Haller (Friesen)

I am also part of the group that didn't graduate from Prairie but I am happy to be included in the fun!

I didn't wander far however and still reside in Three Hills, I married Shelley Haller's brother David 11 years ago. We have 2 beautiful children, Angela who is 4 going on 16, a real chatter box and intellect and Chase who is almost 2 and boy through and through, if it doesn't have wheels he is not interested and I think I see a future class clown, he keeps us laughing. Dave keeps busy farming and I keep busy chasing them all and working part-time at The Co-operators selling insurance of all kinds.

It was so neat to see everything everybody wrote, it took me right back. I just can't believe that its been 15 years! Hope to see a bunch of you at Bobbi's this summer.

Krista Bjorn

Wow! It is so good seeing you guys again! I never graduated with you, but I spent many elementary and junior high years with you and it’s so fun catching up on where you are and what you’re doing. :)

After I left Prairie I moved to the States and have lived all over the US and Europe since then. I just moved up to Washington State from California and am continuing to work as a newspaper reporter and freelance writer. I love it!

I’m not married and have no kids but, amazingly enough, I’m really, really happy. :) I spend a lot of time traveling and hiking with friends and family, and still love to read and write outrageous stories on occasion. Some of you know my brothers, Ryan, Evan and Dana, and they are doing great too. Ryan is a District Manager for Starbucks and is moving to Moscow, Russia in June to open the Starbucks market there. Evan and Dana are both Sgts in the US military and are stationed at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. Both were in Special Forces but Dana is most likely getting a medical discharge after some serious injuries. Dana is very happily married to Rachel. And that’s my life in a nutshell.

I’d love to hear from any of you and you can find me on www.facebook.com

Mizpah Bethel (Sweeting)

I have been so busy and I haven't been able to sit down and respond to your e-mails yet. I am a mother of a toddler who is two and a half. He is my angel... and when he was a year old we were told by his pediatrician that he might be Down Syndrome. I know you are probably wondering why we never found out when tests were done but I never opted for them as I knew that I would not be comfortable having an abortion. So life has definately taken an interesting turn as it so often does. He is so full of love, and he is actually very mild, and you can hardly tell that he is Down's.

My husband is Bahamian British. His mother moved here in the 1950's and married a Bahamian who is part white/black. We call it being mixed here. He is a believer and we met at our church and were friends for two or three years before the love lightning struck. He is a Landscape Arcitect and has his own practice. I am a singer/songwriter, and won a Marlin Award(Caribbean Gospel Music Award) for my single "Down to the River" last summer. I also have a band called SWAY and we perform at local restaurants and private gigs. Our gigs are not gospel but cover songs. I am a Massage Therapist as well and work from home to facilitate my toddler.

Bobbi, I have very fond memories of you in school, and would love to keep in contact with you. Say hi to Dayle Binet, I would like her e-mail adress, also I would love to find Marian Giurgis, I don't know her married name, I haven't heard from her since 1999. Say hello to the two Mikes, Dean, Kristy, Kerry and so many others.

God Keep all of you beautiful people and I feel honoured to have been a part of your lives. Keep me posted on all the dates but it would take a miracle to get up there. I will try to send pictures later.

God is great despite the brokeness of our hearts...

Love,
Mizpah

Bobbi's note: check this out: http://www.marlinawards.com/ for a picture of Mizpah receiving her 2006 award!

Matt Dyrholm

It's nice to read what everyone's been up to over the years. 15-year reunion coming up in just a few months? That could trigger a 1/3 life crisis in us all!

Let's see, after PHS I went on to the University of Calgary and am now a computer programmer/web developer. I recently moved to Vancouver 2 years ago and now live in Burnaby... if anyone's around Van I'd love to catch up!

Not married yet, but I've finally come to the realization that the bachelor lifestyle isn't all it's cracked up to be. Judging from all the other messages it seems that I'm one of the few non-married holdouts left!

Hope everyone is doing well, and hopefully I'll be able to make it for the BBQ.

Glenn Steeves

Greetings from the Steeves Clan,

Our years at Prairie (19 altogether) will always remain very special to us.  God was good and the joy of fellowship and community was strong.  From the old buildings (character) to the bonding of staff and students through student government activities, intramural and interschool sports, class trips, conferences and chapels made it very much a family atmosphere.

It’s hard to believe that we have been at SCA in Sherwood Park for 5 years now.  I am still teaching Junior High math along with one High School course.  The High School course is called Leadership and Joyce and I have had the privilege of taking this class to Mexico for the past three years.  Our family is all within 5 minutes of us.  Stacey is married to Luke and has Mason (6) and one on the way.  Jocelyn married Devan last September and Stephanie is marrying Ken this coming May.

It’s been great reading up on everyone.  God’s best to each of you!

Jeff Jones

I am doing pretty good - I am still out here in the Minneapolis area (Minnesota) and may be moving to Southern California in the very near future. My wife and I are expecting our first (baby girl) in May. I have a bunch of pictures and some video up at two of my websites (www.jeffandannisa.com and pictures.jeffandannisa.com).

I'll write a little more biographical thing like everyone else seems to have done a little later.

Cheers,
Jeff Jones

Joyce Meerstra (Ehmann)

John & I got married July 31,1999 and have been living in Papua New Guinea since January 2000. John is a pilot with New Tribes Mission Aviation and flies our missionaries along with their supplies that they need for living in a remote tribal location. I am a stay at home mom on our base and keep busy with flight following by radio, take care of our 2 kids, help with the guesthouse for missionaries passing through and have lots of people in our home for meals. We have two kids – Jaycee is 5 and Jared is 3 1/2. They keep us busy and are a lot of fun. At the present time we are living in Wewak but through out the years have lived all over the country of PNG due to the different pilot needs. We enjoy having a part with our missionaries seeing many tribal people of Papua New Guinea come to know the Lord in their own tribal language.

Bill Redifer

Hello Class of '92!

It's been great to read many of your blogs at the PCA class of '92 website. I think of a quote I heard from the Cowboy Poet, Bryn Thiessen "Do you know what grandparents call grandchildren? ..............Revenge." Now that, of course, is tongue-in-cheek. I can probably parallel it to being one of your Junior High teachers when your kids get to that age and stage. Any of you there yet? Hang on. God will get them through. Where do they get that creative energy though? On a family note, my wife, Lois, and I just celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. Our daughter Sharon graduated from PCA High School this past June and Melissa is in grade 10.

I began teaching at the old Junior High school in 1983. After 17 years of mainly being the Junior High Science teacher ("science rules" from another famous Bill), the two old buildings were deemed too old. They came down. (Please now stop for one minute of silence. No tears please.) At this point came a separation. The 8's and 9's were sent to the basement of the High School, while grade 7 was moved to the Elementary school. Since I taught mainly grade 7 subjects, I moved there. After this move, I realized what a wonderful lab the Lord provided to me there across from the grade 9 room on the top floor of the South building. I taught you guys how to use the bunsen burner in grade 9 and we didn't even have a fire or explosion. (Boring, eh?) And how about drama down in the chapel auditorium? There are probably many things I don't know about and I'm sure ignorance is bliss for this teacher from the days that you occupied that building. (However, I was never sure at times about Jon Armbruster's mischievious smile. Hey, Jon, thrilled how God is using you in the life of hockey players in your cross training ministry.)

Two and a half years ago our school was released by Prairie and we became a part of the Golden Hills School Division as an Alternative Christian school. We are still in transistion as a school, trusting the Lord for His direction regarding land and a new School building. You will probably be hearing more about that at the PCA website in days to come. Be encouraged that the Bible is still our foundation and our walk with the Lord Jesus our goal. We are able to pray, to teach from His Word, and to serve our community together. We are blessed to have Godly leadership in our Principal Randy Wood and our Associate Principal Edna Kary. Our PCA society board and parents are committed to Christian principles. I am thankful for these past 24 years and the privilege it was to teach many of you from the class of 1992.

If you're ever in Three Hills, please do look me up. It's always a blessing for me to meet up with former students and to know what God has done and is doing in your lives. May the Lord richly bless you and yours.

Berny Hiebert

We moved back to Manitoba in 1993 and have been living in Steinbach since then.  In these years, we have experienced the marriages of both our children, Dana in 1995 and Jared in 1996, and the birth of our 4 grandchildren, two boys and two girls.  For an update on Dana, see Dana & Mark Loewen on this website.  Our son Jared (Tanya) is presently completing his PhD studies in Historical and Systematic Theology from Westminster Seminary in Philadelphia.   They have a 7 year old daughter, Meagan and a 4 year old son, Joshua.

For the past ten years, I have been Principal at the Steinbach Regional Secondary School, a Grade 10 – 12 public school of approximately 1100 students.   Being in the 39th year of education, 26 as an Administrator, I decided to phase toward my retirement by taking a Vice-Principal position in the same school beginning this past fall and until retirement.  I especially enjoy working with the “at risk” kids, sometimes being the only adult stability in their lives.   My wife of 37 years, Marleen, enjoys her work as Administrative Assistant to The Honourable Vic Toews, MP and President of the Treasury Board for the Government of Canada.

We particularly enjoy our church of 2200 attendees, working in various ministries which include Elder, Cell Leaders, Greeters, the Perk (church coffee shop), and the Ministry of Restoration and Reconciliation.  We love to spend time with our children and grandchildren, all of whom are nearby for this year.   Other things of interest to us are reading, walking (miles and miles and miles!), and of course any kind of sporting activity, although we have become spectators more often than participants now that our prime has come and gone!  We have also come to the point in our lives where we are experiencing some of our life long dreams coming true.  Most importantly, our children and grandchildren are all walking with the Lord and serving him with their gifts and talents.  More frivolously, we have been able to do a bit of traveling and hope to do much more in our recently purchased red Mustang convertible (a dream of mine since I was old enough to drive).  When we reach retirement, not that long from now, we hope to be involved in some kind of voluntary work for the Lord – hopefully in warmer climates.

Introducing Shyloh Wilson

Charmaine and I welcomed our first child to our family on January 15th, 2007 in Kelowna General Hospital.  He's a healthy baby boy weighing in at 9lbs 8oz. We're keeping a blog at www.the-wilsons.ca so check there for pictures and lots more.

Dora Van Der Minne (Hepworth)

I didn't graduate from High School with you guys either but I did spend many years with most of you, some of you since kindergarten. Looking at all the old pictures takes me back a long time and brings back the memories. It's good to see new pictures and hear how everyone is doing. As far as the BBQ goes, I'd love to be there but we'll have to see what next summer holds. All my family is back that way so who knows.

I live in Burnaby, BC now with my husband of 10 1/2 years, Steve, and our just turned six year old son, Colton. We moved here the beginning of June from Chilliwack because Steve had been doing the at least three hour a day commute for over four years. He's a paramedic in the Vancouver area. Colton is in Grade one French Immersion and is looking forward to being able to talk in a different language we don't understand:) The one semester of French I took way back in grade nine is mostly gone from memory. I'm also still a paramedic (part time) but work in Chilliwack. I haven't been working very much in the last year and am considering the possibility of moving on to something else after doing this for 9 1/2 years. For now, I'm really enjoying not working outside the home, spending more time with Cole and focussing on getting some projects finished that I've been working on for years. Life is very busy and revovles around Steve's shift work and Cole's activities. This is his second year of soccer and his first year for Beaver's, both of which he really enjoys. He's also taking piano lessons with the goal of having Steve teach him to play the electric guitar. We're also busy trying to complete all the renovations on our home. We're renting after selling our place in Chilliwack because the cost of housing here is insane. Thankfully our landlords our letting us do what we want and paying for the supplies as long as we do the work. Unfortunately, it's a lot of work but the end is in sight. This small town girl was pretty uncertain about moving to the big city but I think I'm addicted now to all that the city has to offer. Hockey (Steve is unfortunately a Canucks fan and has co-erced, I mean convinced Cole to be the same. I am still a loyal Oiler's fan.), concerts (Steve and I went to a Queen and Paul Rodgers concert for our 10th anniversary), unlimited shopping, unlimited activities (PNE, Science World, Grouse Mountain, etc.), are just some of the wonderful things we can enjoy.

Marki Janssen

I can't believe it's coming up 15 years! That's insane! I don't feel that freaking old, but obviously I am. Only consolation is that pretty much everyone else from the Class of ’92 is just as ancient.

For the most part my life consists of work. Day after day after day. To make matters even less exciting, I work in Insurance. Yippee. No actually, it's pretty decent. I work for Zurich in Edmonton and am a Commercial Fleet Underwriter. We only insure trucking (short haul, long haul, U.S., Dangerous goods etc.) so there's always a chance of some huge, horrendous explosion or nasty environmental spill happening. Good times. I've been doing this Insurance thing basically since High School - the last 6 years for Zurich.

When I'm not working, I travel. Some people have accused me of having an obscene amount of holidays. Which is true, but also is completely irrelevant. Mostly I drive places because I enjoy spending copious amounts of money putting gas in my truck. And besides I can’t love flying. To date I've driven down the California coast, down to Kansas City (twice - both times it was beastly hot!), up to the Yukon & Alaska, down to Utah and several times to other states. I've also flown a few places (Tennessee, Kentucky, North Carolina, Georgia, Arizona, New Mexico). My fear of flying has prevented me from spending the requisite 8+ hours in a tiny, airless, floating chamber of death and as such I have been unable to tour Europe.

Some of my travels include hitting Cowboy Poetry Gatherings. (Yup, you read that right!). My next trip (November 2006) entails a Cowboy Gathering in Utah – Yee haw!

When I'm not working or travelling, I'm busy with church. I attend Edmonton Centre Victory Church which ministers to the needs of the homeless, low-income, recovering addicts etc. It's been a great experience. I also do the accounting for the church which is about as much fun as a stick in the eye, but sometimes you just get volunteered for things....!

No spouse or kids at this juncture which doesn’t really break my heart.

Dana Loewen (Hiebert)

Mark and I are still living in Steinbach, Manitoba. The last few years I have been keeping busy managing our home and trying to stay somewhat sane. Our daughter Alex is in Kindergarten this year and our preschool son Miles is turning four in October. Alex loves dance, swimming, reading and the entire Disney princess thing - you moms will understand! Miles would rather play baseball, football, hockey or anything else that requires hitting something. I have been also keeping busy teaching part time at our local community college (rrc.mb.ca). I teach biology, chemistry, physics and computer applications to adults who are trying to get their mature high school diploma (Mr. Ebenal - eat your heart out). I enjoy the flexibility I get there because I can work two days a week and do everything else from a home office.

Mark still teaches high school concert and jazz band as well as math at the local high school (srss.ca). He is also an active musician trying to gig whenever he can. He plays bass in a band at our church and I teach Pre-K Sunday school. We love our church!

I would love to attend a reunion barbeque next summer. It gives me a good reason to show the kids where I grew up (since now we live in the town where Mark grew up) although I hear Prairie has changed a lot. I missed the ten year reunion so I would love to see my classmates. Many of you I haven't seen since grad!

Sabres Fundraiser

Are you interested in playing or watching Alumni Volleyball, Basketball or Hockey? There is an opportunity on September 30th, 2006 to do so! The contact info is attached, as well as information on the 3rd annual Athletics Banquet fundraiser. I have attended the last 2 years and watched our classmates play different sports, as well as enjoyed the wonderful banquet! See if it fits in your schedule, or you can support it in other ways, such as donation of auction items, or purchasing advertising, or tickets for someone else to enjoy!

Sharon Roths

Crystal Kraaikamp (Martens) called before 9 this morning to tell me that Sharon had passed away. Apparently she was found unconscious by her roommates, and was given an antibiotic treatment that failed. I am unsure of the actual illness, but her funeral will be in Bethel Evangelical Missionary Church in Three Hills on Saturday, August 26 at 1pm. Her sister Patty was in our class as well.

Dayle Binet (Marillier)

Douglas and I live in Airdrie and have been there for the past 5 years. We have 3 children two boys and a girl AND ARE DONE – WHUHOOO! Douglas runs a multimedia company and I teach vocal arts one day a week. I home school my two boys grade 3 and grade 1. We look forward to any kind of get together and are excited about the web site.

Angela Giroux (Wallen)

I feel funny even responding to these since I never even graduated from Prairie - but I don't think Bobbi did either - so I guess its okay : ) I love hearing how everyone is doing. I've been married now for 10 years to Richard (yes he's French). He works for a law firm downtown Vancouver as their IT Manager. On the side he enjoys programming and woodworking. I guess the woodworking keeps him well-rounded. We have 3 beautiful children - one of which was even planned. Noah is 6 and going into grade 2 french immersion. He loves swimming, drawing and playing games. Levi turned 3 in February and is completely into sports of any kind. Grace is 15 months and she just took her first steps a week ago. She's so different from the boys its almost impossible to imagine. We are currently living in Surrey but are moving to Mission (BC) on September 15th. We bought a house there and are looking forward to getting settled in. Keep the updates coming. I'd love to see you at the BBQ next summer.

Kevin Scarrott

It's good to see what everyone is up to. Or at least a small portion of our class. My wife Raylene and I live in Chestermere Lake. We still attend Centre Street Church in Calgary. I am still working as an auto tech at Strathmore Motor Products, I've been there about 6.5 years now. Raylene is still doing her music career. She was nominated for a Juno award last year. Check out her website http://www.raylenemusic.com/. We have an 11 month old son Matthew Braeden. He is getting to be so much fun. . We enjoy getting out to the mountains as much as possible. Hunting, quadding, camping, mountain biking. I'll have to get back to ya about the bbq.

Mike Sewlal

We have three kids, live in Calgary, I'm a framer, and are still walking with the Lord, by his grace. We attend the Calgary Free Presbyterian Church. There are a few Prairie alumni who also attend there. Looking forward to the Second Coming. Until then, pressing on by His grace.

Kelly Stickel

I am looking forward to the BBQ next summer! It has been great to hear from many of you and read the updates of where everyone is! Well, my family and I just moved on July 1 to Okotoks to plant a new church. Believe it or not, I had been pastoring a church in Canmore for the past 8 years. We turned that church over to another pastor and are now ready for the next adventure. My wife, Joy-Lynn and I have been happily married now for 10 years and have 3 incredible sons. Carson is 9 and is into football. In fact he will be starting with his new team in a couple of weeks. Kahl is 7 and is the brains of the family. He is also into music and loves hanging out with his younger brother Keenan. Keenan is 6 and is the life of the party. He is full of spunk and makes me laugh everyday. He loves people and hates being alone - even to sleep! His interests, right now anyways, is horses. Joy-Lynn is opening up a day home here and is planning on keeping busy with that. She is also very involved with the church of course, and is a great singer and musician. Besides pastoring I coach High School football. I love it! It's the greatest sport in the world and a great way to meet the community. I am also still heavily involved in the music scene and have been owning and operating a studio in Canmore for the past couple of years. I also recently played in a metal band and had the opportunity to open for Starfield as well as Jars of Clay in Calgary. Quite the contrast of styles I tell you, but it was good nonetheless. Other than that, life is pretty normal. I look forward to seeing you all next summer. Please feel free to stop by and see us the next time you are in the Okotoks area!

Dean Blundell

It may be short as I am at the cottage on my blackberry so don't mind the spelling mistakes. I just had my 8th wedding anniversary. My wife Stacey and I have three beautiful boys. Evan is 6 and loves hockey. He plays goal and has my personality which is hard on my wife. Marek is 3 this week and looks like a blond beach bum/white supremacist. He loves cookies swimming in the pool and spongebob. And Jake is 6 months and screaming as I type this. My wife is an engineer at GM and is on a leave forever and spends the day raising three VERY active boys and picking up after me or so she says. Our nanny who is part of the family to should be awarded a medal of honor for putting up with all of us. I work at a radio station in Toronto where we also have lived for the past 5 years. I do a morning show which I am sure Bernie Hiebert would not listen to. The radio station is "the Edge" at http://www.edge.ca/ should you care to see what it is we do. During the week we are 100 miles an hour but on weekends spend most of our time at the cottage unless Evan has to come back for hockey which goes year round. Stacey is at the cottage the whole summer which allows me to sleep as I get up for work every day at 3 am. Hope you are well. I often wonder how and where everyone is. Great to get your email.

Kurt Lindberg

Hello all from the Lindberg's! We would love to come out for a BBQ. Well, other than running around taking the boys (Brett - 10 and Logan 8) to hockey, school, swimming and soccer we don't get to do a whole lot else. Logan played about 8 or 9 months of hockey this year and loves it. Brett played "only" 6 or 7 months but will be switching to indoor soccer for this coming winter (he's the academic of the two). We do try to get out hiking/camping and fishing during the spring and summer. Cheryl is working at Propak in Airdrie and I drive into Calgary (from Airdrie) for work as an Instrumentation System Designer at G.A.S. Analytical Systems Ltd. Yes, I know... I once hated computers (still do) but now sit in front of one 5 days a week drafting and such! I have stepped back quite a bit from Blue Bronna Wilderness Camp this year as family life was getting too busy. We are heading out in just over a week to the east coast (Maine, PEI, Quebec, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick) for a world-wind tour and to see Cheryl's grandparents. It will be a much needed break and some quality family time. Hope to see many of you next summer; we will plan on making it there this time.

Things here are REALLY good and REALLY busy. We have 22,000 turkeys at this moment, and by the end of the year will have raised 35,000. Add that with all the mowing, the cattle, the horses and one 9 month old Lab puppy who has chewed everything but the tires off our truck, well like I said....busy! Stuart also works in Calgary so he does a lot of driving. We did take a break to go to Radium for our annual camp out and golf! December 14th is our 10 year anniversary, and Stu has planned a 10 day cruise to the Caribbean (I am nausious already!) Blake will be going into grade 2 in the fall, and my baby Danielle is in Kindergarten (YAHOO)! Now maybe I can get my house clean in time for our BBQ next year! Well. Its time to do chores...

Well, let's see, what have the years since high school held? (wow, that seems a long time ago). Got married, moved 17 times, had two awesome little girls (Sklyar 6, Samara almost 4). We just moved from London, ON. back "home" to Birch Hills, SK and are in the middle of renovating-again. Mark is the head honcho at the air section for the RCMP in PA, and I stay at home with our monkeys, oops, kids. We homeschool, hug trees, and grow our own grain for bread. No, just kidding, so far we just homeschool, and love it! Anyway, hope to see lot's of familiar faces next summer. Take care.

It's cool to hear what others have been up to these past years. Wild how time flies, but I don't feel any older. We love the idea of Three Hills next summer. We would definitely like to plan for a road trip to Alberta and Saskatchewan with the family. Life has been crazy here. New baby Paige is such a good baby and totally goes with the flow and is so used to being mauled (I mean loved) by her sisters. It has sure been fun having another baby in the house again and a lot of work. Rob just got back from Iraq where he was for three weeks as part of a building team from our church. They were helping to build a women's center. The opportunity came up really fast and within a couple weeks they were on their way. It was an amazing trip and definitely a stretch of our faith. God took care of him and the team and us while they were gone. Well should run. I am trying to do better in keeping in touch. hopefully you will be hearing from me much more often.

A BBQ sounds great! I wish I could come! We don't have any travel plans for next year yet and I'm not sure they'll include Alberta. I'd like to think they will. It's a 3 day drive, or a couple of flights from Kansas City. We've been here since 1997 so it has definitely become home. Time sure does fly. Adam, our biological son, is 13 and entering grade 8. Sean, our adopted son, just turned 5 and will start kindergarten this fall. Both are good kids and make us proud. Having a teenager sure makes me feel guilty for all the stress I caused my parents! Ryq and I celebrated our 14th anniversary this year. He is in computer sales and I am a part-time personal banker. We bought a pizza restaurant franchise last year but have yet to find the ideal location for it here in the K.C. metro area. Hopefully soon. I'm sure that will consume any free time we have for a long time. We were foster parents for about 4 years but have moved on from that for now and may do it again someday. I teach Sunday school to 2 and 3 year olds and it's tiring but rewarding. With no relatives nearby, I have made some great friends through church who I consider family so it's not so bad being this far away from Alberta and B.C. and all the relatives. The people in this part of the country are welcoming and friendly. Stop by and visit if you're in the midwest. Marki's come twice! I don't recommend summer though unless you love heat with humidity.

Doug Wilson

Charmaine and I are living in Kelowna and completed nine years of blissful marriage in March. I am currently self employed with more work than I can keep up with and Charmaine is a receptionist at Kelowna Kia. For fun I play bass in a jazz band, a cover band and on a few worship teams at church. Of course I'm still into computers and audio and am slowly acquiring bits and pieces for a small recording studio. Probably the highlight of the past 14 years has been becoming foster parents and having some wonderful children come through our home. We're currently taking a break from that as we prepare for the birth of our first child in January 2007.

We keep a blog here: The Wilsons
